Surabaya – The Japan Foundation again visited Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya (Unusa) on Friday (2/2) in the meeting room on the 8th floor of the Unusa Tower. This visit was represented by Miyake Shuto, Deputy Director for Nihongo Partner, in the context of socializing the Japan Foundation program with Indonesia.
Miyake Shuto said that this WA 2.0 project means harmony, which in his sense is a continuation of the previous program, Nihongo Partner, which was successfully implemented previously in Indonesia. NIHONGO Partners is a program for sending Japanese citizens to high schools and vocational schools to support Japanese language learning by teachers and students in Asia. His arrival this time was still at the stage of accommodating the aspirations of Unusa’s structural members.
Chancellor of Unusa, Prof. Dr. Ir. Achmad Jazidie, M.Eng. welcome this visit. He added that Unusa also has a Japan Corner, a forum for implementing Japanese language learning programs related to career preparation in Japan, especially as a caregiver.
Head of Cooperation and Alumni Sub-Directorate, Syiddatul, asked questions regarding the possibility that the WA 2.0 Project program could be included in this year’s annual BRAVE program with the theme mental health. Miyake responded happily to this and will coordinate with the central government in Jakarta for the involvement of the Japan Foundation in the BRAVE program.
Finally, Miyake visited Japan Corner accompanied by the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor III, drg. Umi Hanik, M.Kes and Chair of LPKS Ima Nadatien. (kim/admin)
