Taipei, Taiwan – Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya celebrates another international achievement as seven students from its Information Systems Study Program graduate the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE) at St. John’s University, Taiwan.

At the graduation ceremony on June 6, 2026, Unusa Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Tri Yogi Yuwono, DEA, IPU, ASEAN.Eng. delivers the commencement address on behalf of St. John’s University’s international partner universities.

This recognition reflects the strong partnership between Unusa and St. John’s University. Among representatives from various partner institutions around the world, Prof. Tri Yogi receives the honor of representing international partners and addressing the graduates.

The INTENSE Program, initiated by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, prepares international talent through collaboration between universities and industry. The program gives students opportunities to study in an international academic environment, develop professional skills, expand global networks, and gain insights into technological and industrial developments in Taiwan.

In his speech, Prof. Tri Yogi emphasizes that higher education no longer recognizes national boundaries. He states that global challenges require young people to have an international outlook, adaptability, and concern for others. He also highlights the collaboration between Unusa and St. John’s University as an example of global cooperation in preparing future-ready graduates.

He expresses appreciation for the seven Unusa students who successfully complete the program.

“These seven students leave their homeland, cross the ocean, adapt to a new culture, face different academic challenges, and successfully complete the entire process. They bring the values of professionalism and good character that represent Unusa and combine them with the innovation and technological excellence developed at St. John’s University,” he says.

Prof. Tri Yogi also notes that the world changes rapidly with advances in artificial intelligence, digital technology, and sustainable innovation. Therefore, graduates need not only technical competence but also integrity, empathy, and social responsibility to help solve societal challenges.

For Unusa students, the program provides valuable experience in strengthening academic and professional competencies, improving cross-cultural communication skills, and developing adaptability in an international environment.

The seven Information Systems students who graduate the INTENSE Program are: Muchsin Maulana; Birrul Walidain Al Musthofa; Muhammad Halili; M. Wava Ferdiansyah Putra; Achmad Bagus Ilham Syah; Muhammad Nizar; Awwalinnisa Fauji
