SURABAYA – Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) strengthens its position in the global higher education landscape through a strategic collaboration with Asia University (AU), Taiwan.

During a working visit to Asia University on June 9, UNUSA Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Tri Yogi Yuwono, DEA., IPU., ASEAN.Eng., accompanied by Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Rusdiansyah, M.Eng., CSCP., CLTD., IPU., and Vice Rector III Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, DEA., DVM., discusses a range of initiatives to enhance international education and research.

One of the key outcomes of the visit is a plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future. An Asia University delegation is scheduled to visit the UNUSA campus in Surabaya in early August to formalize the partnership.

The collaboration focuses on human resource development through advanced education programs. The partnership covers Master’s and Doctoral programs involving four faculties at UNUSA: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, particularly the Early Childhood Education program.

In addition, both universities develop flexible Double Degree programs for undergraduate students. The schemes include 2+2, 3+1, and 7+1 semester models, allowing students to study at both institutions and gain international academic experience.

The partnership also extends beyond academic programs. UNUSA and Asia University establish opportunities for internships, collaborative research, and summer culture and course programs.

UNUSA Rector Prof. Tri Yogi Yuwono says the collaboration represents a concrete step in expanding international opportunities for the university community. He states that the partnership with Asia University helps UNUSA improve the quality of teaching and research while addressing the demands of global industries.

“We are committed to providing broader international exposure for our academic community through this strategic partnership with Asia University,” says Prof. Tri Yogi Yuwono, Rector of UNUSA. The collaboration reflects UNUSA’s commitment to strengthening international engagement and creating broader opportunities for students, lecturers, and researchers in a global academic environment.
