Surabaya – On August 19th, 2024, National Taipei University (NTPU) and Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) held a hybrid meeting to explore an Academic Exchange and Mutual Cooperation Plan aimed at enhancing collaboration between the two universities. The primary focus of the meeting is to foster academic exchange, strengthen educational cooperation, and promote mutual development in both academic and cultural spheres.

Representatives from NTPU, including Ms. Xylia, the Program Coordinator of the Master Program in Smart Healthcare Management, Dr. Yankuba Manga, and Dr. Muhamad Adeel, actively participated in the discussions. On the Unusa side, the delegation is led by Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Achamad Jazidie, M.Eng, alongside Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Kacung Marijan, Drs. MA., Ph.D, Vice Rector for Human Resource and Finance, Mr. Ir. Muhammad Faqih, MSA., Ph.D, Vice Rector for Cooperation, Drg. Umi Hanik, M.Kes, and other key members of Unusa’s leadership.

The meeting focused on discussing opportunities for collaboration in research, teaching, and academic development. The discussions emphasized establishing long-term partnerships by sharing expertise and facilitating cross-cultural understanding between the institutions. Planned initiatives include joint research projects that tackle global challenges, as well as guest lectures, seminars, workshops, and interaction sessions with faculty, students, and administrators. The exchange of ideas through these activities is expected to strengthen the relationship between the two universities.

Ahmad Syafiudin, Ph.D, Head of the Research and Community Service Institute at UNUSA, explained, “At UNUSA, our research is focused on fostering international collaboration. We are currently involved for example matching funding partnerships with international institutions to facilitate collaborative research efforts that address global challenges.”

Both parties expressed their commitment to global education, and they aim to finalize agreements on research collaborations and further academic exchange. This initiative highlights the shared vision of fostering an environment of shared knowledge, cooperation, and cultural interchange between NTPU and UNUSA.
