Surabaya – Hearing plays an important role in children’s growth and development. However, not all children experience the same conditions, as some are born with hearing impairments.

Hear The World Foundation (HTWF), an international foundation that supports children by providing hearing assistance devices, visits Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) on Monday (May 18). During the meeting, HTWF Senior Program Manager Jacqueline Drexler presents the mission of the organization and discusses possible areas of collaboration between both institutions.

UNUSA Vice Rector III, Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, explains that the university is planning to establish a new study program. This initiative aligns with the discussion with Jacqueline, who highlights that audiology study programs have already developed in several countries.

The discussion on curriculum development also involves Jacqueline, considering her expertise in the field. She expresses her willingness to support the process and connect UNUSA with colleagues who have stronger expertise in curriculum development.

“I will help connect you with colleagues who understand curriculum development better,” she says.

The discussion opens opportunities for UNUSA to expand its international network. Through this initiative, UNUSA also strengthens its commitment to becoming a university that is more aware of and supportive of children’s growth and development, especially for those with hearing limitations.
