Surabaya – Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia visits Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (Unusa) for the first time on Monday (30/06). The visit aims to strengthen the relationship between the two universities and explore potential collaboration.

Unusa Rector, Prof. Achmad Jazidie, M.Eng, says the meeting is a great opportunity to discuss possible partnerships. During the discussion, both parties present the strengths, facilities, and academic programs of their respective institutions.

Several similar study programs between UPSI and Unusa increase the chances of collaboration. Moreover, there is already a strong connection between some lecturers from both universities. Unusa shares that one of UPSI’s professors visited Unusa in 2024 as a keynote speaker at an international seminar. In early 2025, a student from Unusa’s English Education Program also took part in the ASEAN Student Mobility Program at UPSI.

Vice Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Dr. Nafiah, M.Pd, adds that some FKIP lecturers had also visited UPSI previously.

UPSI warmly welcomes future collaboration and expresses interest in hosting another visit from FKIP lecturers at the end of July. The visit will focus on learning more about UPSI’s educational excellence, as UPSI is known as the top education university in Malaysia.

The discussion highlights potential areas for cooperation, including the Brave program and visiting lectures.
