Surabaya – Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (Unusa) warmly welcomes the courtesy visit of the Australian Consul General in Surabaya, H.E. Mr. Glen Askew. The visit is received by Unusa’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Achmad Jazidie, M.Eng., along with his executive team and representatives of the academic community at the Rector’s Meeting Room, 8th Floor of Tower B, Unusa Campus, on Tuesday, (14/1). This strategic meeting aims to strengthen international relations and explore potential collaborations, particularly in the field of education. 

In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Achmad Jazidie stated, “It is a great honor for us to receive a visit from Mr. Glen Askew. We hope this meeting not only enhances our relationship but also becomes the foundation for strategic collaborations between Unusa and the Australian Consulate General in Surabaya.” 

He adds that the meeting could open opportunities for both parties to develop international educational programs, such as student exchange programs, guest lectures, and joint research initiatives. 

H.E. Mr. Glen Askew expresses his gratitude for Unusa’s warm welcome and emphasizes the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration. 

“We see great potential in Unusa, especially as it is well-known for its focus on health sciences. We hope to collaborate in advancing quality education that benefits the community. This partnership also aims to strengthen the ties between Indonesia and Australia, particularly in the education sector,” he stated. 

He further mentions, “Australia offers many scholarship opportunities, and perhaps we can explore collaborations in areas like student exchange programs and more.”  Apart from formal discussions, the visit also includes a campus tour, Mr. Glen has the chance to see Unusa’s educational facilities firsthand. This activity is expected to serve as the first step toward establishing tangible cooperation between Unusa and the Australian Consulate General in Surabaya. (Humar/adm/Genus)
