Surabaya – Global Engagement of Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya (GENUS) held a sharing session in an activity entitled “RAMADAN HARMONY: EMBRACING DIVERSITY AND SHARING WORLDWIDE VALUES”, Saturday (23/3) virtually via zoom. This activity was attended by the entire Unusa academic community along with resource persons from China, Türkiye and Pakistan.
The speakers shared stories related to activities that local residents generally carry out when the month of Ramadan arrives. Zhao Wen Wu, a resource person from Chongqing Water Resources and Electric Engineering College, China said that during the month of Ramadan there will be many people selling various noodles / mian / 面.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Shams ur Rehman, resource person from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, Pakistan said that people will spend more time in mosques during the month of Ramadan.
Yunus ÖZER, a resource person from Istanbul Medipol University, Turkiye explained that during Ramadan, mosques will be decorated with sparkling lights at night. (kim/admin)
