The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (Unusa) conducted visits to several institutions in Malaysia from July 6 to July 7, 2024.

The first visit was for a community service program. This international community service program is part of a collaboration between Unusa and Pondok An-Nahdloh, aimed at strengthening educational and cultural ties between Indonesia and Malaysia. The main focus of this program is to improve the quality of education at Pondok An-Nahdloh, particularly in the Elementary School (SD) and Junior High School (SMP) Guidance Centers.

Following this, FKIP visited the Special Branch Board (PCI) of Muslimat NU Malaysia. This visit included an audience and the signing of a collaboration agreement to implement an International Community Service Program (KKN). The goal of this program is to broaden students’ perspectives, enhance the quality of education, and strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia through innovative educational and social programs.

The final agenda was a courtesy visit to the Special Branch Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCINU) Malaysia. The Dean of FKIP Unusa, Dr. Mohammad Thamrin Hidayat, who led the Unusa delegation, stated that this visit had several strategic objectives. One of them is to strengthen the relationship between Unusa and PCINU Malaysia in developing educational programs based on local and global values. This meeting also provides an opportunity for Unusa to present various flagship programs that have been implemented, such as scholarship programs for outstanding students, community-based skill development programs, and research programs focused on social and environmental issues. The presentation received positive feedback from PCINU Malaysia, which expressed interest in adopting some of these programs in Malaysia.

By expanding its network of collaboration, FKIP Unusa hopes to foster mutual growth and development in educational and cultural spheres between the two nations.
