Surabaya – Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya (Unusa) through the Global Engagement of Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (GENUS) again held the Brave! with the theme “What Gen Z Can Do to Support Sustainable Development Goals?” from Tuesday to Saturday (15/11 – 19/11), November 2022 which was attended by 19 foreign students from the University of Malaysia Perlis, University of Technology Malaysia, University of the Northern of the Philippines and University of Malaysia Kelantan.
This activity began with the Opening Ceremony at the Unusa Tower Campus B lt.9 Auditorium on Tuesday (15/11) which was attended by structural officials starting from the chancellor, vice-chancellors, directors, deans and heads of study programs in the Unusa academic environment. In addition, GENUS invited two keynote speakers to discuss issues related to the Brave! among them, dr. Karina Widowati, MPH (Health Specialist for UNICEF Country Office Jakarta) and Arina Azmina Binti Ahmad Zubir (PhD Candidate at Environmental Engineering University of Malaysia Perlis).
dr. Karina Widowati, MPH as the first keynote speaker, discussed Gender Equality and how UNICEF’s perspective on the phenomenon of Gender Equality in the world by making policies related to Gender Equality.
Furthermore, the presentation from Arina Azmina Binti Ahmad Zubir as the second keynote speaker was no less interesting, namely about the impact of climate change on the water environment around us and how to increase awareness of environmental pollution and climate change for the current generation Z.
The event was closed with a group photo session and continued with activities that had been prepared in each faculty. (kim/admin)
