Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – On February 24th, students from the ASEAN Mobility Program attend the Grand Opening of the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum (AEF) 2025 at the Grand Lagoon Ballroom, Sunway Resort Hotel. The event gathers approximately 500 student participants from various ASEAN countries.

The event includes several important agendas. YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, delivers a speech. YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, gives the keynote address. Other highlights of the event include the Launching of the ASEAN Scholarship Platform, the ASEAN Young Talent Speaker Award, the Best Future Innovator Awards, and the ASEAN TVET Higher Education Dialogue, which focuses on “Promoting Strategic Alliances for Sustainable TVET Higher Education.”

One of the participants, Muhazirin Khoeroy, a student from the Diploma in Nursing program at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya, shares his excitement about joining the ASEAN Mobility Program and AEF Innovator Challenge 2025 in Malaysia. He proudly represents Indonesia by flying the red and white flag and the flag of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya.

“I am very happy to be part of this program during seven days. I will continue to walk towards my dreams and inspire young students in Indonesia about the importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs Number 4, which focuses on quality and inclusive education for all.”

In the evening, participants of the ASEAN Mobility Program and AEF 2025 gather for a gala dinner at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaysia. The event provides an opportunity for students to connect, share ideas, and celebrate their experiences. (nrl/adm)
