Surabaya – On Monday, August 26th, 2024, the Faculty of Health at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (Unusa) hosts its 4th Brave! event with the theme “Fun Discovery Laboratory.” The event welcomes eight International Students, four from Nareseuan University and four from Unusa, representing Timor Leste and the Philippines.

The primary objectives of the event are to introduce laboratory equipment, enhance understanding of laboratory safety signs, and provide training on the use of Portable Fire Extinguishers (APAR). The day is packed with engaging activities designed to both educate and entertain.

One highlight is the “Brave of Champions” game, which tested participants’ knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety signs. Participants are also introduced to Unusa’s laboratory tools, gaining hands-on experience. Additionally, the event included a practical session on APAR usage, guided by representatives from the Occupational Health and Safety (K3) study program.

Participants shows great enthusiasm, especially during the hands-on simulation of using the fire extinguishers. The practical training allowed them to experience firsthand the crucial skills needed for fire safety. This interactive approach not only provided enjoyment but also imparted valuable knowledge about workplace safety.

I learn so much about laboratory equipment and safety procedures, and the hands-on practice with the fire extinguishers is both exciting and informative. It is amazing to see how these skills can make a real difference in ensuring safety in the lab.
